About the Role
We are looking for an editor who can do more than simply cut footage. This role is for someone who can identify why footage works or fails, recognize recurring production weaknesses from the edit stage, and help improve the quality of future shoots.

You will work across editing, footage review, continuity awareness, and production feedback to help the team produce stronger content over time. This role is ideal for someone who has repeatedly seen the same production mistakes and wants to help build better systems rather than continuously fixing them in post-production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form content for clarity, pacing, structure, and usability

  • Review raw footage and identify technical, visual, and structural issues affecting the edit

  • Diagnose recurring production problems such as weak shot coverage, continuity issues, flat visuals, and poor scene usability

  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to production, camera, and creative teams on improving future shoots

  • Identify which issues can be solved in post-production and which should be addressed during planning or filming

  • Support internal reviews of footage quality and improve collaboration between production and post-production teams

  • Contribute to best practices for production planning, shot capture, and edit-stage problem prevention

  • Work closely with editors, camera operators, and the creative team to improve content quality and workflow efficiency

  • Help reduce repeated production mistakes by identifying root causes early

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in video editing, post-production, commercial content, branded content, or digital media production

  • Strong understanding of footage review, continuity, pacing, and scene usability

  • Ability to identify common production-stage issues from the editing stage

  • Good judgment when evaluating whether footage is usable, salvageable, or fundamentally weak

  • Ability to communicate feedback clearly with production and non-editing teams

  • Comfortable contributing to discussions across pre-production, production, and post-production

  • Strong understanding of editing workflows and post-production processes

  • Must be based in Lagos or able to work full-time in Lagos
